About Us
The 2026 Rogers Jays Care Celebrity Golf Classic in support of Challenger Baseball
The Rogers Jays Care Celebrity Golf Classic is a key annual fundraiser held in Vancouver, BC supporting Challenger Baseball, an adaptive program run in partnership with Little League Canada and Baseball Canada, that empowers children and youth living with cognitive and physical disabilities through sport. With programs reaching more than 7,000 participants across all 10 provinces, Challenger Baseball teaches valuable life skills like teamwork, resilience, communication, and inclusion. Held this year on July 7th, the event brings together community leaders, Blue Jays alumni, and sports personalities to raise vital funds that help expand opportunities for athletes with disabilities across British Columbia.
Fundraiser
Since 2003, with your continued support, we have been able to help children, youth and adults with cognitive and or physical disabilities play ball in BC.
Our goal is to continue to provide financial support to challenger baseball leagues throughout BC keeping children, youth and adult players on the fields playing ball.
It’s simple: we want to empower children, youth and adults living with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. The program teaches athletes living with disabilities the core life skills inherent to baseball, including: teamwork, communication, determination, resiliency, inclusion, support and courage. Challenger Baseball ensures every athlete has the opportunity to play in a fun and safe environment where they learn to become more independent, build confidence, improve their communication skills, and set and achieve their own personal goals.
Challenger Baseball
An adaptive baseball program, run in partnership with Little League Canada and Baseball Canada, where kids living with physical and/or cognitive disabilities find a place on a team where they belong. The program teaches athletes the core life skills inherent to baseball, including teamwork, communication, determination, resiliency, inclusion, support and courage. Challenger Baseball ensures athletes of all abilities have the opportunity to play in a fun and safe environment where they learn to become more independent, build confidence, and create lasting friendships with their peers.
Our simple philosophy can’t be beat:
play, just for fun!
The game is played in a safe, recreational environment, where no score is kept. Able-bodied Buddies are assigned, one on one, to each participant. These Buddies are mentors to the Challenger players, and assist with their involvement in the game. Pushing wheelchairs around the basepath, assisting players in how to hold the bat and swing, or providing protection for the Challenger player from a batted ball, are just a few of the ways the Buddies offer a better experience for the participants in Challenger Baseball.
Each participant is treated like every other player in the conventional baseball program. All players are on a team, and are outfitted in uniforms and use the same equipment. A team picture is a must for Challenger Baseball, as it is in the other divisions, along with a team party to finish the season, a team trophy, they are all part of the Challenger Baseball experience for every child that plays.
Last but not least, the smiles are plentiful and free: the joy on the face of each participant in Challenger Baseball, makes you realize just how much fun they are having. No more all-star pressures, no more playing time issues. Everyone just has fun– kind of what baseball is supposed to be all about.

MISSION: Through the power of baseball, we empower kids facing barriers across Canada to build character and unlock their potential.
VISION: A level playing field for all children and youth across Canada.
Canada is facing a silent crisis of loneliness and isolation that is afflicting children and youth at alarming rates. Jays Care believes that baseball for development programming can play an important role as an effective low-cost intervention to address pressing youth mental and physical health challenges. With your support, together, we are building a Canada where kids of all backgrounds and all abilities have a place on a team where they belong.
Because when you belong, you believe.
